Citizen Roots specializes in the design, installation, and maintenance of organic gardens to provide you with fresh produce grown in your own backyard. Our gardens incorporate amazing varieties of vegetables, fruit, and herbs to meet your individual needs.
Consultation and Design
To get started, we arrive at your site for a consultation to understand your goals for the garden, as well as the possibilities and limitations of your specific location. We then develop a proposal setting forth the scope of work, as well as the approximate cost and timeline for the project.
Installation and Planting
Citizen Roots will build your garden from scratch, or help you modify your existing garden, by installing raised beds, irrigation, compost systems, fencing, and anything else your garden might need. After the garden is installed, we'll meet again to review our list of vegetables, fruit, and herbs to ensure you will enjoy the harvest throughout the entire growing season. We then schedule a date to plant the garden! We are happy to have our clients participate, watch, or leave the whole process up to us.
Maintenance and Teaching
Citizen Roots also offers its clients year-round garden maintenance. Usually, a visit every other week during the growing season (May to October) allows us to meet all of your garden's needs, including weeding and organic pest management, as well as other services. For clients who want to develop their gardening skills, these sessions include hands-on teaching for adults, as well as children. Alternatively, you may also choose simply to enjoy the harvest we bring to your doorstep. We also gladly deliver any surplus produce to local food banks on your behalf.
